Seems like pango to me. Try running the benchmarks with and without MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1. These ran at 5s vs. 10s for me, but pango in firefox has also caused font problems for me (giant font size everywhere, despite exact same config), so I had to decrease the text size in order to test.
