Pango improves rendering for some non-European languages, and thus it's inlikely that developers will disable this "feature" (suggestion - make it locale sensivive? One shouldn't pay for what he doesn't use)

I have posted this fix in Ubuntu wiki:

Add this line to /etc/environment

MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1

and then logout and login again.
