I use the search bar for a scratch pad next the menus as well as for searching, I certainly want to be able to see it at all times from any tab without it changing whichever use I am using it for. If I want to modify a search on a specific page, it was probably done with Google, and if it isn't the same as on the search bar, I will modify the search at the top of the Google search page.

Comment #24 and #28 are absurd use Private Browsing.

If I am doing several searches they would almost always be related to a previous search in some manner, even if to a different search engine.
