Bug Description
Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox
This is an old problem still unresolved fully. The way it manifests for me is, for example:-
Go to news.bbc.co.uk
File>Print Preview works and shows the images.
File>Print (without changing any settings) prints with black rectangles where the images should be.
That is clearly a bug when preview and print display different results.
However File>Print then choose the Options tab, check the Print Background check box and then print and the images are printed as per the Preview.
I first reported this to the cups project. They sent me this reply:

QUOTE:
bwallum, you are hit by a Firefox bug. I have visited the site you mention and then I have chosen to print to a file in the printing dialog (first entry of the printer list). I have tried with both the PostScript and PDF output formats and get black images in both cases. So the data arriving at CUPS when choosing to print to a real printer is already broken.
Please report a new bug for the firefox package.
ENDQUOTE
I have attached my printer set up and files used. The bug is repeatable every time for me. I'm running the latest updates for Intrepid as of 18th November 2009
