How many people delete history entries via shift-delete vs. are helped by the domain suggestion?
I have no numbers, but my gut feeling would be that you'd be hurting a lot more people than you're helping with this move, given that out of the dozens of people I've told about shift-delete (one of my favorite features), I was the only one who'd known it was there.
Brett's suggestion is a good compromise. If you don't want "nytimes.com" in your history it's a good bet you don't want the one page at nytimes.com that you visited there, either.
