This could be a reason to implement gazillion of other fringe options, yet we
don't want that. Why? because there are certain absolutes in GUI design. When
one method is measurably more efficient for practically any user and requires
less keystrokes, there's no need to bloat our interface with needless alternatives.

It would be a good idea, however, to fine-tune the current method. That's what
efforts like bugs 182366 are for. They can measurably reduce about a keystroke
of each autocomplete event. This is where we should be heading, not IE's way.
