3. and 4.
After performing a pushed update (Ubuntu 8.04) on the 27.th of September all windows e.g. Preferences Help etc. opens with a area of minimal size (about .5cm on each side). Dragging the widows sides, to enlargen it, the content of the window is blank.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04? Thanks in advance.

No, this is not still an issue for me. Actually. Restarting Firefox after the update fixed the window. Due to various reasons (especially empirical ones) I am very selective about updating my Ubuntu. Hence I am still running 8.04 and could not tell you if I were able to reproduce the error in 8.10 or 9.04.
