I've had no reports of problems with the update from users, and the I/O stalls have gone away. It seems reasonable to attribute this to the updated firefox package.

I can certainly find no problems with the update, and it looks like it fixes the issue too. I can't be 100% sure without using something like systemtap, but it looks good.
