Comment 542 for bug 195698

The FIXED resolution of this bug means exactly one thing: proxy authentication on startup does not cause multiple master password prompts in Firefox 3.6 and later.

The master password prompt can still appear multiple times in other cases -- the causes are tracked in bug 177175, recently reopened. There is one such case known at this moment, and it's being worked on for the next version of Firefox.

Some reports of MP appearing multiple times were marked as duplicates of this bug, even though they were not specifically about the proxy authentication. Sorry about the confusion. If there are specific bugs about other causes (i.e. not master password caused by form fill), please mark them as blocking bug 177175.
