I checked the testcases and they are close, but I still notice a subtle
slowdown. I recently upgraded my motherboard and processor and all the
fixed-element slowdowns got significantly better from the hardware upgrade.

Someone with an older/slower machine should test this since that's where the
slowdown is most noticeable.
