On Firebird the fixed div will overpaint the scrollbar everytime the document is
scrolled, furthermore, I have tried to change it to offset to -10px to avoid
scrollbar repaint (which may account for scrolling slowness), but the scrolling
is still slow.

The slowdown is more apparent when you use 'up' or 'down' cursor key on your
keyboard to scroll :)
