You may be experiencing this problem because File Roller can only open self-extracting archives. Most .exe files tend to be full-fledged Windows programs that have to be run in some compatibility software such as Wine.

Have you tried to open the .exe file with Wine? What happens when you do that?

I can download files and software for ubuntu and it still will not let me open my files or music or pic when do u think it will get fixed?
