In 6.10, I use for an X200 onboard card. It used to hang when I attempt to logout. It also doesn't hang when I press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace.
I tried, as suggested by Sebastien Bacher, to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf to use "ati" instead of "fglrx". I can now, using "ati", logout with success.
So, I changed it back from "ati" to "fglrx" and, after a restart of X, tried to logout. Computer hangs with a blank screen again.
So, it seems to be related with the "fglrx" being used.
Hope this will help.
