Comment 363 for bug 351186

I have more serious problems with this driver. I doesn't let me boot Ubuntu 9.10 when enabled. I had to disable it using a live cd to boot. I found that there is an error message when you install the package named 'fglrx-kernel-source'
Here is the terminal output containing the error:

Is there any work around so that I can enable desktop effects. It's a friends laptop. I love Ubuntu but maybe he will be a little disappointed...
