with my ati radeon 9600 "Black screen of death after the update".

I boot grub in 2.6.28-10-generic (recovery mode), after check "root Drop to shell prompt" and now write # sudo apt-get remove --purge xorg-driver-fglrx

Reboot and works fine :)
