As I said before, I'm marking this bug as a duplicate of:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer-updates/+bug/1068404
since there is strong indication for that.

Till the original reporter comes back and indicates that the workaround of the other bug is not working for him, then I believe this should be the case
