Bug Description

Binary package hint: fast-user-switch-applet

- fresh install of jaunty alpha 6 into VMware Workstation 8GB disk
- VMware tools installed
- all updates applied (as of 2pm March 13)
- system rebooted
- log in to standard Gnome desktop
- shut down GDM, e.g. # /etc/init.d/gdm stop
- the X environment stops - switch to tty1 (ALT-F1)
- log in on tty1 console
- type "startx" at the bash prompt
- Gnome desktop starts, except for fast-user-switch-applet which crashes and won't reload
- try to log out using menu System | Log Out idallen...
- fast-user-switch-applet crashes again and asks to submit this bug report
