Bug Description

Error GeneraError: LibGPhoto2.GPhotoException: Unspecified error
in <0x000b9> LibGPhoto2.CameraFilesystem:ListFiles (System.String folder, LibGPhoto2.Context context)
in <0x0003e> GPhotoCamera:GetFileList (System.String dir)
in <0x00114> GPhotoCamera:GetFileList (System.String dir)
in <0x0000f> GPhotoCamera:GetFileList ()
in <0x00055> GPhotoCamera:InitializeCamera ()
in <0x001e3> MainWindow:ImportCamera (System.String camera_device)

AFAIK this is related to an old libgphoto2 version which gives wrong paths, but I could be wrong.

Linked to the upstream bug, this is definitely happening on a lot of Canon's (mine is a SD400).

I think I'm also having this issue with my Powershot S400

This appears to have been fixed with a recent gphoto upload. Could you please confirm this?

Not fixed, although the error is different. Upstream bug claims the fix requires libgphoto2 2.1.99 or later and a patch from FSpot CVS to fix it. So maybe the libgphoto patch was backported, but not the corresponding FSpot patch?

I tried installing the 2.1.99 packages from debian experimental, but they required a dbus upgrade, which I can't deal with messing up at the moment.

I compiled F-Spot from CVS head, and it works with the current dapper gphoto package. If the F-Spot patch from Gnome Bug 326860 is applied I imagine this will be fixed.

Thanks for following this up with upstream, I'll get the patch in ASAP.

Using upstream CVS, I can import from my Canon S2, but not from my Canon Ixus 60, that one still gives me trouble.

Uploaded 0.1.11-1ubuntu1, please follow up if this bug is fixed or still exists, please.

It will now import photos, but crashes when you exit from any session during which you imported photos. Not that critical, but I'll file a bug when I get a minute.

Marking this one as fixed - the crash on exit should be a separate bug
