Comment 8 for bug 194864

I can confirm I have the very same problem with:

$lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 8.04
Release: 8.04

$apt-cache policy f-spot
f-spot:
  Installed: 0.4.2-1ubuntu3
  Candidate: 0.4.2-1ubuntu3
  Version table:
 *** 0.4.2-1ubuntu3 0

Seems that it will work intermittently but for the most part I get the same debug info from gdb resulting in:
