Creating /var/run/ez-ipupdate/ in postinst isn't enough as /var/run/ is a tmpfs on Ubuntu. This means the dir will vanish after the next reboot and the init script tries to store a pidfile there. Therefore the init script has to take care that the dir exists before using it.
This needs proper merging.
