Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Hi,
It’s been about a month that I’ve this problem.
I haven’t found the exact way to reproduce it, but it appears relatively often.
It appears nearly each time when I send a mail.
The outbox, initialy empty, is then filled by the mail I’ve just compose, which is normal, but sometimes with other old mails. Then these mails are sent.
Thus I’ve sent through Evolution some mails more than one time.
At each time this happens, the old mails is sent with exactly the same properties as the old one: for instance the sent date writen in the “new old mail” is the same as the old one. (The sent date writen in the mail through the field “Date”, not the real sending date.) The containing text is of course the same.
I’ve tested it without connection and it sometimes “works” too. (But then I’ve expenrienced no problem in erasing them… But they were still created in the outbox!)
It’s a bit problematic for me to have this bug now.
If you need some other information, you can of course ask.
Thanks!
Martin.

I'm not sure I'm experiencing the exact same issue but it seems similar.

I also have not found a way to reproduce this and it only happens once or twice a week of daily usage.

I send mail. Sometimes Evolution asks me to restore the an old mail as if it had been closed or it crashed while composing a mail. Yet I had not neither closed evolution nor did I notice some crash.

I can restore the mail, yet I find it in my "sent" folder also. Of course now I'm unsure whether it was successfully sent, but most of the times I asked it was indeed sent the first time.

I'm not marking this bug as confirmed though, as the symptoms seem a bit different so this may be a different bug. I'd be glad to open a new report if the fix to this report does not fix my issue.

Indeed I’ve already seen Evolution do that, but only one time or two and as it never re-do it, I’ve never reported it. But for me this little bug happens when I launch Evolution and not when I send a mail…

The bug seems a little different though: for me it happens each time I send a mail and it does not ask me anything, it just send the mail.

I’m aware that I’ve very few datas to offer developpers to work with.
Here I re-send some datas using apport-collect of Evolution when this bug just happens.
If anyone needs any other information or command I should try to type, just ask!

Hoping it will help.
Martin.

I’ve just, following the advice in the bug repport https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/64953, commit a repport in Bugzilla.
Here it is: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=649819
I’ve added some information that can be helpful, I don’t know.

Well… I guess something changed in Evolution, since this bug doesn’t happens for at least a week.
It seems thus solved on my computer.
Hoping it’s really solved,
Martin.
