I am not sure this will ever be resolved, if left for upstream: Mozilla requires some actions from cacert.org, and cacert.org is taking a sweet long time to respond (or comply with MF requirements); Evo upstream is tending to consider this, then, as NOTGNOME (which makes sense).
And the Ubuntu users are still stuck.
Perhaps this could be set as a local patch on Ubuntu. But, probably, this will have to be discussed and agreed upon by the Ubuntu council.
