kodespace: the model sounds nice and i like it, but i doubt that the mozilla developers could agree with such a model, especially as to suit business users (the model seems more oriented towards end users).

personally, i think mozilla should use availible libraries such as openssl, thus delegating the question of trustworthiness to the surrounding system. on debian gnu/linux users, for example, firefox would trust all authorities accepted by the user in the debian openssl setup (or the default configuration).
