Thanks for posting those links. Your comment notwithstanding (there was lots of process involved), it looks like StartCom has cleared the hurdle of getting Mozilla inclusion without an official WebTrust audit, but using the 'equivalent audit' mechanism of the new Mozilla policy document.

This is *good* news for CACert. Now, StartCom appears to have a linux distro business that probably funded the We! Consulting audit, an advantage over a community group like CACert, but it's precedent and shows that if CACert can get an audit done the prospects look good!
