Upstream says the fix is in more recent versions, but could be backported:

Currently I have:
Version: 3.10.4-0ubuntu2
Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS

xenial (gnome) delivers 3.18.5.2-0ubuntu1, which should have the fix already (untested).
