Bug Description
Binary package hint: evince
Actually I'm not quite sure if the bug is in evince.
If you open a pdf-file in evince and print it, it is a bit smaller than it original was, about 95% or so. That is even in the preview. Same thing occurs if you print the pdf with gimp with the normal print dialog (with the gutenberg dialog it seems to be a bit better but also to small). And since the preview is in evince I thougt it might be in evince but could also be in the GNOME printing system.
On the other side if you print the pdf with "lp filename.pdf" it is o.k. so it seems not to be a bug in CUPS, the error also does not come if you print with OpenOffice.
I have an HP 4P printer. I have tested the problem with the following drivers (seems no difference):
HP LaserJet 4P - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.4
HP LaserJet 4P Foomatic/lj4dith
HP LaserJet 4P Foomatic/ljet4
Generic PCL 5e Printer Foomatic/ljet4d
Generic PCL 5e Printer Foomatic/
In earlier Versions of Ubuntu (8.10 or 8.04, I don't know anymore) that was o.k. with the ljet4-driver; with the Gutenprint-driver there was a little offset to the right (or left?)
