Bug Description

Binary package hint: evince

When you open a PDF or PS file with evince from a browser (problem occurs with Firefox and Epiphany), the window positioning is off. Half of the window is off the screen (at the bottom and to the right).

This only occurs with Compiz and not with Metacity.

This also only occurs when an Firefox and Epiphany (possibly other programs as well) open up a document in evince. If I open evince and then open a document, it resizes and positions correctly. If I use the terminal to open a document in evince it resizes and positions correctly.

Hi,

I have seen this too, although I'm not positive that
it is evince's fault.

What seems to happen is that evince loads and uses
a small size, which is lined up with the right edge of the
desktop. It then loads the document, expands to fit it, and
this expansion pushes it off the screen.

Thanks,

James

I can confirm this behavior as well, and that it is somewhat annoying. I've added compiz to this bug report.

Hi,

further Evince repositions if you're reloading the file. This problem only occurs if your're using compiz. This behaviour is making me mad because my PS preview from TeX shifts down ^^.

Thank you for fixing this ;-)
