Bug Description

This is the error I get when trying to launch Euler from the terminal:

'''
(euler:16077): Gdk-CRITICAL **: IA__gdk_char_width: assertion `font != NULL' failed
Segmentation fault
'''

I'm assuming the 16077 is the process ID, though it never registers in the System Monitor.
