Cannot add spell check languages to empathy

Preamble:
I've installed the "Portuguese" language pack in "Language Support"
configuration tool.

What I expect to happen:
After checking the Portuguese language in Empathy's preferences dialog ->
spell-checking tab, I expect it to remain selected.

What happened instead:
After closing Empathy's preferences dialog and reopening it, the Portuguese
language is unchecked, disabling me from using Portuguese spell-check.

$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu precise (development branch)

$ empathy --version
Empathy 3.3.4

$ apt-cache policy empathy

i have also seen a bug like this but that problem was with other language.. i am confirming it right now because i have seen also an upstream of this..i will mark it the duplicate of that one and add info it that bug,,
