In Ubuntu 9.10 after installing all the available updates on the main server, the Empathy version is 2.28.1.1, so it's useless if version 2.29.4 is bugles if it doesn't get in the update list.
I do not have the time or skill to take the 2.29.4 version from the repo manually and install on Ubuntu.
Best regards
Alonzo

With available contacts selected if I drag a name (inside the empathy window) and then let go, the contact will be removed from the contacts list permanently. I accidentally grabbed a contact (left mouse click and holding) and moved a millimeter before I saw that I was dragging a contact and released, the contact simply disappeared from the list. You need to manually add the contact again in your list (if you still can remember their emails.... otherwise you are nicely done....). Since then I removed Empathy .....
