I had the same problem but on i386 architecture.
uname -a
Linux FSC 2.6.28-11-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 27 09:00:52 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux

dpkg -l | grep ekiga
ii ekiga 3.2.0-0ubuntu1 H.323 and SIP compatible VoIP client
