The error comes from the impossibility for "efibootmgr" to create a new boot UEFI entry
# efibootmgr --disk /dev/sda --part 1 --create --label "ubuntu" --loader "\EFI\ubuntu\shmix64.efi"
Could not prepare Boot variable: Invalid argument
