Hi Dann,
I have no objections to upstreaming the pattern. But I wonder, if we add the pattern to the upstream and backport it, are we going to skip backporting it to Jammy? If we decide to do so, it means another behavior change and we'll find ourselves dealing with the same dilemma again.
Regardless, having the pattern in the list does not dictate which FW images we want existing/future series to use by default, so I'm going to submit a patch to the upstream virt-manager to get the ball rolling.
