This is maybe a duplicate of bug #443004.
Can you reproduce it with the eclipse package from the Ubuntu archive?
| Soks (soks86) wrote : | #3 |
I'm also experiencing this issue. It does seem to be the same as bug #443004 since it is affects many of the buttons within eclipse and I also can confirm it is JDK independent.
| Benjamin Drung (bdrung) wrote : | #4 |
Could it be a duplicate of bug #458703 then?
| Jean (jeanjean) wrote : | #5 |
Yes it seems to be the same issue.
The problem is I didn't succeed installing pdt with eclipse ubuntu 9.10 package : dependences problems appared...
I tried to follow installing instruction, no way to install it.
It is very annoying, I can't work properly without searching buttons with my thousands of scripts...
I already lost much time with that issue... Should I downgrade to Ubuntu 9.04 ?
Bug #443004 was reported more than 3 weeks ago... I don't understand how it is possible to let this issue on a programming tool so famous, it is critical software...

I found a external pdt package for ubuntu 9.10 here : https:/
I installed and downloaded it but didn't find how to launch it.
Anyone did ?

Another thing to try : "Install Eclipse Galileo (3.5) on Ubuntu Karmic (9.10)" : http://
I'm not at work now, I can't try for the moment...

We cannot do more than fixing the bug in the Ubuntu package (which we have done).
| Jean (jeanjean) wrote : | #9 |
Ubuntu didn't package PDT PHP support for eclipse.
Any other way to install PDT on the official eclipse package don't work.
If you can't do more, how run any other eclipse software ? Downgrade GTK ? Ask for new build of eclipse PDT ?
I just want use PDT in eclipse

Hi,
I'm developing an eclipse application and i have the same problem on all eclipse versions (except the one from the repositories). Also the eclipse application i'm in charge is not working, all SWT Button are disabled.
So i think the issue is from higher level.

A tempory solution is to execute eclipse pdt-all-in-one with this command :
In a shell go into your eclipse directory and launch :
GDK_NATIVE_
Search buttons work, if the problem occurs with other button, give the focus to the button (with tab button) and press enter.
With Ubuntu 9.10 and pdt-all-in-one, previous plugins have to be reinstalled.

The best would be a Ubuntu package for PDT (hopefully we manage it in time for lucid). The normal solution would be to add the update site and install the plugin. This works for e.g. CDT, Subclipse, but PDT ends with missing dependencies. I tried to install all those required dependencies, but I failed. There were at least EMF, ANTLR, DLTK, and WDT required. It would be nice if someone can figure out which updates sites and which packages are required.
@Jean: I agree, that the current situation is not ideal. Asking for a new build of eclipse PDT (with the patch included) would be a solution.
@Matthias: Is there any change in the proposed package which can solve this dependency problem?

I have the same behaviour with the next and the finish button iin the "new project" dialog and sometimes the buttons in the team->syncronize window disappear.
Problems started after 9.10 upgrade.
