Bug Description
For what it is worth - -it *just* started crashing with the hotspot error under intrepid ibex this morning which is what prompted the upgrade. I am going to try openjdk6 as well and will update later. This is a show stopper for me.

Are you using the version of eclipse from the Ubuntu repository? If so, do you still encounter this error on Karmic or Lucid beta?
