I too have almost the same problem. Im using alpha3 ubuntu 8.04 i386 version on amd64 laptop. It scare me to boot to linux as everytime its going to do the fsck thing and some kind of error comes up

i've tried all the three options nothing worked.
I've /dev/sda1 , /dev/sda5, /dev/sda6 on fat32 and /dev/sda7 on ext3
Atleast whats the problem with it and how do i stop this check every time.
