Same with me on a fresh Edgy install on a Sony Vaio FS415B, formatted as ext3.

On running

sudo tune2fs -l /dev/xxxx

Mount count: 13
Maximum mount count: 30
Last checked: Thu Jan 1 01:00:00 1970

Mmmm, that date looks suspicious!
