Comment 9 for bug 1852985

I'm seeing a very similar issue, but

 * crashes when I select one specific commit in gitk or if I open gitk while that commit is checked out as HEAD (thereby opening to that commit)
 * commit message does *not* have any non-ascii characters

Error message is:
