I must apologize for my previous comments. In fact, my problem is always there. Does not matter what I boot from: HDD or USB. I have also installed a SATA PCI card (after getting a hint from some forum) and this does not help either. Now I am receiving the following:

Which is the same as previous. I am going to try switching to debian now and see if that changes the situation. However, I suspect it is a kernel issue.
