I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 with digikam installed (plus some other kde apps).

Phew... you're asking me to remember exactly what I did (3 months ago ;) )
If I remember I was trying to batch convert some raw images to jpeg using the Tools->Batch Process -> Convert option. This is iin the Album view.
The images are stored on a separate partition and this partition ran out of disk space. Resulting in digikam closing without any error message.
I'm not planning on using hardy until it's stable.
