The position of the icon can not be changed, however the tap area might be increased in order to hit the taget.
If user invokes the contacts view, the search is not in focus therefor the OSK is not displayed on scree. This is intended behaviour and not a bug.
If user wants to search for a contact, he simply has to tap into the search field in the header and the OSK will be triggered.
