In edgy (and feisty) this package is failed to build from source due to the missing dependency:

python-diacanvas2 (0.14.2-2ubuntu1) depends on python and python2.4-diacanvas2 (not available)

In dapper:

python-diacanvas2 (0.14.2-2ubuntu1) depends on python and python2.4-diacanvas2 (0.14.2-2ubuntu1) which is included.

in dapper: python2.4-diacanvas2 is built from diacanvas2 (0.14.2-2ubuntu1)

in edgy: diacanvas2 (0.14.4-4) doesn't build this.

diacanvas2 changelog has the following:
diacanvas2 (0.14.4-3) unstable; urgency=low

Make python-diacanvas2 Conflicts/Replaces with old python2.[34]-diacanvas2
