I am on Gutsy. When i connect to the office vpn my local dns and local search entries which are set by my local DHCP Server disappear, the remote nameservers have entries, but none of the remote search domains i want are present unless i add them. (After disconnecting the original settings are back.)
I agree with the comments that the /etc/resolv.conf file should contain (or the option to have it contain) a merge of local and remote. I would also like to see the option in the vpn setup to add search domains - my office uses several because of acquisitions, and production network separation projects.
