@Niels: Yes, rtc-module is loaded.

$ lsmod
Module Size Used by
...
rtc 13492 0
...

I solved the problem temporarily by adding
  /sbin/dhclient eth0
to /etc/rc.local

I'm going on a two week vacation, and can't post any more information about my system & configuration.
