I had the same problem (Sony PCG FR285E) but I also read bug report #33968 and tried the workaround. It works for me, maybe it'd help you too... as it seems that this bug is very strange, maybe some black magic would help!

PS: I had an Acer Aspire with Breezy, but it wasn't affected by this bug at the time (in September).
