hmm, i wonder why nobody notices the absence of the "auto eth0" line in
/etc/network/interfaces ... surely its not dhclients job to generate this file
correctly... i had some people reporting the same problem in #edubuntu while
using vmware... but rather saw it as a vmware bug...
