System broken after update !
sudo update-initramfs -u -k 2.6.32-24-generic restored a working boot.
Why don't you save the previous kernel + initramfs when updating image ? I am glad I had another working kernel + initramfs.
How are you supposed to even find this page if you are not an experienced user ? A broken system after an update is a very bad bug IMO. Please find attached the dpkg.log file.
