Comment 6 for bug 423608

Would it not make more sense to fix hibernation?

I am not sufficiently technical to comment on how this could be done, but I did come across this solution for Mint:

As Mint is based on Ubuntu, I guess that it would work for Ubuntu with some tweaking?
