description |
1. Create a new database file (foo.odb) using LibreOffice Base.
2. Close LibreOffice.
3. Open foo.odb via dash home / recent files. Since the odb extension is associated with Archive Manager (alias File Roller) as a default, I got a nice error at this point.
If I open Nautilis and correct the file association to LibreOffice, the above steps work OK, as expected. The question is: why was the odf extension by default associated with the Archive Manager application?
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04
Package: nautilus 1:3.4.2-0ubuntu2
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-25.40-generic-pae 3.2.18
Uname: Linux 3.2.0-25-generic-pae i686

GsettingsChanges:
org.gnome.nautilus.window-state geometry '800x818+49+24'
org.gnome.nautilus.window-state maximized true
InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Beta i386 (20120301)
SourcePackage: nautilus
UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) |
Impact:
libreoffice database odb file open in file-roller rather than libreoffice
Test case:
- Create a new database file (foo.odb) using LibreOffice Base (or download the one from comment #3)
- Open foo.odb via dash home / recent files or double click on it in nautilus
With the fixed version it should open with libreoffice-base
Regression potential:
- the odb files could open with the wrong application still
