Bug Description

Binary package hint: debian-installer

When attempting to install Ubuntu 10.04 on a SPARC system the SILO installer fails - initially thought this might be a faulty ISO or CD - changed discs, drives and made new discs from ISO's for both regular and alternate installer discs - always fails at same place as per the following:

{0} ok
{0} ok boot cdrom
Boot device: /pci@7c0/pci@0/pci@1/pci@0/ide@8/cdrom@0,0:f File and args:
SILO Version 1.4.14
ERROR: Last Trap: Fast Data Access MMU Miss

{0} ok

Is this something I'm doing wrong or is this a known issue?

ISO's used:

ubuntu-10.04-server-sparc.iso
ubuntu-10.04-alternate-sparc.iso

Server platform:

SUN SunFire T2000 - 16 core SPARC with 4Gb ram 80Gb hdd and DVD ROM

Hello Dan,
Yes indeed I was able to get Debian to install and it has no problem
with SILO - the issue is that I wanted Ubuntu 10.04 to install and it failed
at the point of installing SILO.

Best regards,

Art.

Does anyone say that he was great at catching the football? My family called him Kleindropper, but we still loved him. In my opinion greatness can be achieved by an average player when they do what they are good at consistently. That combined with him being a lifelong Viking and a great guy make him one of the best Vikings ever in my opinion. Oh and your logic is seriously flawed. Because OP liked a player that you don't think was very good, his post is instantly unreadable? That's incredibly stupid thinking.

I say it should be a concept, but if you don't want seasons, you can set it to false as a gamerule. Also, I think you should be able to set the season your self with a command. i.e.: /season Autumn or /season Winter etc...
And like Autumn and Spring in real life, make it like the leaves change color/grow at a steady rate. Like at the beginning of fall, barely any color, then as it goes, it starts getting more and more orange. Then in Spring, the leaves get thicker and thicker until summer.

That gets me wondering: Our galaxy has angular momentum right? I think it's defined in a certain direction- the axis of the "wheel". I'm guessing that any system with moving bodies has a total angular momentum that is conserved, so our local cluster should have a total angular momentum, and intuitively it seems like it should have a defined direction, although I never asked that specific question in physics.

So then the question is, how far can that be expanded? Does our super cluster have a specific angular momentum direction, or the observable universe?

[](/sadjack)I hope you get over whatever is ailing you emotionally soon. Its unfortunate for anyone to feel down welcoming a new year in. Then again, I can sort of sympathize because I'm not feeling cheery myself. I'm finding it hard to genuinely care about 2015 or whatever and I'll be entering the new year distanced from family here in front of this computer and without friends.

[](/twiwhatever)I haven't felt connected to anyone in some time now and though sometimes I might get moody about it, the more time that passes by, the less I find myself caring about others or making friends.

That's a refusal of the well-regulated breathalyzer at the station.

Refusing the road side test is perfect legal in most if not all states.

If you really want to go wireless for the sub and rears then I think you're best bet for anything close to the price range is the Vizio soundbar.

The wireless tranmitter/receiver sets will be about $70+ and you'll need two of them. So you're already up to about $150+ before you even get started. To answer your question about power most sets require power at the location of the speakers to power the wireless receiver.

You can also add in a new sub to your shopping list as most of the subs that come with HTiB sets are passive and are powered off the main unit. This will not work with a standard AVR as they are setup for an active (powered) subwoofer. This is exactly the case that you have with your samsung HTiB set you currently have. So you're looking at about $125+ for a new sub.

Now lets talk about your AVR. The Sony you have is old but it could work if you're only going to use it for audio. It does have a few optical inputs which is good but it has not HDMI inputs. The point of the AVR is to switch from source to source in your case you would have to do the audio separate from the video. Again if you're going to use it like a soundbar and only hook up the TV you're ok...if not then you'll need to upgrade it. We're talking about $200 for a nice refurb unit.

We haven't even got to the speakers and we're already up to almost double your budget. That is way I said the Vizio is about the most cost effective way to go. Also keep in mind that wireless and sound quality do not go hand in hand. I'm not trying to be a downer here I just wanted to point that out. I don't think it would be that hard to run some wires around your room but that's just me. If you want to go down the whole new 5.1 system feel free to ask questions.

Budget build option would be use the AVR you have, get a new 5.1 speaker set and roll with it. Add in wireless if you like but I don't think I would.

TLDR: Vizio is the best option for cost, possibly not the best for sound. Wireless is possible but will cost money.

Subject: Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

In high school, I was hanging out with a teacher after school (I was that kind of nerd) and he started telling me about his lesson plan for the following day. It was going to be about how we all need to boycott companies that use child labor and shut down sweatshops that employ children. That was his entire argument, that they need to have the doors shut and send those kids home. Not increasing regulations, educational incentives, wage increases, lessening cheap labor demands, international intervention, etc.

I brought up the following: If they take away the small amount of income that child laborers are earning, won't that make starvation and malnutrition even worse? Wouldn't less scrupulous sweat shops just take on the ones that were laid off? What about parents that sell children into the sex slave industry if they're out of alternatives? If they aren't going to work, and there is no school system in place or their society doesn't allow certain children to attend school, couldn't that lead to an increase in crime rates, pregnancy, illiteracy, etc?

It was just playing devils advocate, but the next day he was taking about all the things I mentioned, and he had printed out articles for students which indicated to me that he had gone home and researched the issue. I thought that was pretty cool.

I am in no way saying that I endorse child labor, just that if you eliminated child labor tomorrow there could be a lot of negative repercussions due to the vacuum that would be left, and these issues need to be thought out carefully.

It's true, the release date for the Resistance pack isn't on the same page. I suppose they should have it there for new players who don't know how the game works.

However. A few minutes of research into the package on any page/site other than the sales page would have made clear that the resistance pack is a pre-order.

So while PGI isn't blameless in how they designed the page. In the future, *buyer beware*. Do some investigation before you spend your money. Especially with **anything** you buy on the internet.
